Despite some interior design choices ranging from questionable to bizarre, the above photo was all I needed to crush on this historic riverside chalet in Hampton Court, England.
The chalet was imported from Switzerland in 1882, and– substantial as it may appear to the eyes of the less solvent– served as a “garden feature” for a much larger home.
So, the current owner has “restored” the home, and their taste is….interesting. Clearly, I’d need to remodel, but at least there’s no beige granite. (I can’t stop watching House Hunters and no so silently judging the proliferation of beige kitchens and bathrooms).
And how gorgeous are those balconies?!
